Dear Parents and Guardians,
A new school year has begun and it is my hope that this year will be a positive learning experience for everyone. I am very excited to get to know your child and to create a caring and fun learning environment for everyone.
This year the grade 4 students will be introduced to a challenging curriculum; however, with open communication between students, parents and myself the year should be met with great success.

Homework and Assignments
Homework and project work will be an integral part of our classroom this year. Homework is important because it is a valuable aid in helping students make the most of their experience in school. Homework is useful in reinforcing what has been learned in class, prepares students for upcoming lessons, teaches responsibility and helps students develop positive work habits. Students are responsible for knowing when homework and assignments are due.

UPDATED REGULARLY AND ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO COPY DOWN THE ASSIGNED HOMEWORK FROM THIS SITE INTO THEIR AGENDAS AND HAVE IT INITIALED BY A GUARDIAN.
In addition, our classroom website will soon be activated so that families may access assigned work and upcoming events. Once the site is up and running, I will send a link for parents to access any news, events and assignments. Supporting your child's regular assignments is greatly appreciated!
Physical Education
I have requested that students bring to school the appropriate gym clothes, such as loose fitting material so that they are less restricted during their physical activity. This includes shorts or sweat-pants and loose fitting t-shirt. If you choose, these items can remain at school each week and brought home to clean on weekends. In addition, each student must have proper footwear for both indoors and outdoor activities.
Scholastic Book Orders
Each month I will be sending home Scholastic Book orders. Payment may be made by cheque (payable to “Scholastic Canada”) or cash.
