Accessibility Planning Survey
The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is committed
to providing an environment in all of its facilities that builds
independence, dignity and respect for our students, parents/guardians,
the public and our staff that includes facilitating the use of assistive
devices.

We created this survey to gather information to guide the Board's
Accessibility Planning Committee in the creation of a five-year accessibility
plan.  We thank you in advance for completing this survey:

Audible Pedestrian Signals (APS) Location Survey

The City of Orillia's Public Works Department and the Accessibility Advisory
Committee are looking for public comment on the installation of APS at
various traffic intersections throughout the City.  APS is the system that
emits a beep/chirp sound to assist those that are visually impaired cross
the roadway.  For the survey and more information ...

New "Safe Arrival" Option
In order to assist parents/guardians with our "Safe Arrival" program,
you now have the option of notifying the Notre Dame school office if
your child will be late or absent for the day by clicking on the "Safe Arrival"
(school bell) icon on the right side of our website.  You will be directed
to complete a form online and the school will then send a confirmation email
upon receipt of your "Safe Arrival" notification.
You are still welcome to contact the school by telephone (24/7) at (705) 326-0979
or send a note to your child's teacher to notify the office of a lateness or absence.

Reminder to Parents and Guardians
Please remember to check your child's head for head lice on a regular basis, e.g. after your
child's hair is washed, weekly, after school breaks, after sleepovers, group events. Indirect
transmission of lice, most likely in a school setting is rare. Direct head to head contact is
most likely to spread an infestation. Notify the school of any head lice and please ensure that
proper measures are taken to remedy the situation. Board policy does not permit students to
attend school with lice/nits present in their hair.  Please contact the school office if you require
additional information.
